Madonna House of Northern Kentucky was established as a Christian not-for-profit shelter for motivated young pregnant women and single mothers with a baby to care for.
As a living and learning center for these single mothers and their infants, our sole purpose is to lay the groundwork for a more meaningful future for these young women at this most challenging time in their lives. We sincerely believe that to make a truly lasting improvement in their lives and that of their babies, you must deal with the needs of the “whole person.” While caring for their physical needs through food and shelter, we require all residents to work on fulfilling needed parenting, educational and vocational skills so as to become the best possible mother for both her child and the community at large.
At Madonna House, we offer promising learning programs through which we hope to enable a young mother to attain the necessary skills for being a single parent. While residing in a structured living environment, all women we serve must participate in a number of programs including:
- Physical Parenting
- Emotional Parenting
- Christian Morality
- Guidance Counseling
- Job Search Skills
- Educational Needs
- Vocational Aptitudes
- Self-Esteem Development
- Job Training
Our residents acquire daily living skills such as shopping, meal planning, cleaning, etc.
Madonna House provides opportunities to acquire professional personal counseling for:
- Emotional Problems
- Single Parenting
- Psychological Problems
- Spiritual Guidance and Training
Applicants for Madonna House will be at least 18 years of age and generally in their third trimester of pregnancy. As we are limited to five apartments, selection of applicants will be limited to those most highly motivated.
